My (Eternal) Childhood

Since my last post was pretty negative, I decided to write about something happy this time.

So let's talk about my wonderful mother! Those of you who know her know she is seriously one of the happiest people; if you don't know her, you are missing out big time!

I've taken quite a few Development classes as of now. The more I learn, the more I realize how lucky I am to have my mom. One class I'm in is called Parent Child Relationships. Almost everything the text book says is "ideal" parenting is just common sense to me because that is how my mom parented! She was always willing to get down and play with us and be silly. She made sure we knew she loved us, by telling us, and showing us every day. She respects us as individuals and works really hard to help us however she can. Though some of you might be shocked by this, I actually got in trouble as a child. Yes, it is sad but true. My mom would always take the time to explain why I was in trouble, why whatever it was i had done was wrong, and to give an appropriate punishment. She has helped shape me in to a motivated, (mostly) competent, (mostly) good, adult. And when I mess up sometimes, it's not because she neglected to teach me anything; it's because I didn't listen.

So many people have told me, after they meet her the first time, that they feel like they have known her forever. I think I figured it out; she must have been super popular in heaven! Really, I think our spirits recognize other spirits we knew before this life. Every one feels like they have known her because they have! She was probably one of the valiant ones who talked us all in to comming down here in the first place.

I love my mom and I am so blessed to have her in my life. :)
