I can't beleive it but it is already the end of October! Who would have thought that I would ever make it through the first half of my first semester of college...well, not entirely unscathed, but relitivly ok (knock on wood).
Anyway, todays topic is automobiles. Specifically, mine. Francis is a 1999 volkswaggon beatle who is in dire need of some tlc. Unfortunatly, he was horribly neglected by his previous owners. When I got him, he was out of oil and windsheild wiper fluid, scratched, dented, had no voice (the radio and cd player didn't work), and had several engine complaints. It was so sad. We are doing our very best to nurse him back to health. So far, treatments have gone well! I am happy to report that the radio works (not the cd player though) and some of the whiney noises have stopped.
I know it sounds silly, but I really think that naming cars and other inanimate objects makes them run better. For example, our piano used to go out of tune so much! Finally I decided it was because it didn't have a name and was upset that we didn't care. We had a little powwow and I decided to name him George. My computer's name is Stella. One time it wouldn't boot up. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. It was because I forgot her name. Finally I said "Stella, please work!" And she did! :)

you are so cute! i can so see you telling this story! I wouldn't think of naming your piano George -- ya learn something new everyday! :) i am glad Francis is doing better, he has a good mommy :) My lil Emmy has had her troubles too, and you are right, with some TLC they do just wonderfully!! Bless them. I love my car! I thought today as I was drving to work, "what if i sold emmy and got a new automobile?" and i shuddered :( i could not give my baby away! it has WAY too much sentimental value! a lot of conversations have gone on in that car, secrets, laughs, memories, and many loved ones have traveled in that car with me. Ah :) good ol cars!
cute car Jess!
