So...

I kind of freaked out just now because I have 12 posts left to do to make it to my one-post-a-week goal.  And there are 9 weeks left in the year.

Ergo, we have today's top ten!

The Top Ten Things I Miss About Utah-

10) The streets - they are a grid.  They are wide.  They are easy to navigate.  You can always orient yourself.  Here, they are super narrow, windy, and confusing.  I don't like feeling lost.

9) Mexican food!  I have yet to find a decent taco in this town.  I even miss people offering to sell me tamales in the grocery store parking lot.  Speaking of grocery stores...

8) Harmons - Everyone here makes a big deal about Wegmans (the local grocery chain) but I don't get it.  Maybe it's just still too unfamiliar...I'm sure I will learn to love it, too.

7) Diversity - Utah has so many different ethnicities represented!  I miss my Polynesian, Latino, Laotian, and Burmese peeps.

6) Being dry - It is so much more humid (and rainy) here.  Everything feels damp all the time.  I never understood why people needed chip clips until now.

5) Wilderness - All the land here is owned by someone.  In Utah, I could drive for an hour and be in the middle of no where, on land owned by no one, with no other human beings close by.  I didn't do that very often, but I miss just knowing I could if I wanted to.

4) My University - I love U of R.  It is great.  But I miss the U...the diversity, the big-ness of it, the people, the atmosphere.  It will always have a special place in my heart.

3) My neighborhood - I have the coolest neighbors back in the dub-J.   (My sunbeams are totally included in this, by the way.  They are adorable, and I love the artwork they send me :) )  It is strange to go from being around people who have known you since you were a little kid to all new people;  I know it will come with time, but I miss the shared history.

2) The Mountains - I mean...

This was a 20 minute drive from my front door.  I miss this.

1) My family - Because we do awesome things like bubble blowing contests.

And we have ridiculously adorable children.

oh yeah, I forgot to tell you there is NO good Mexican food in NY. There's a place in Syracuse that's decent, but only just.
